JUST A COUPLE OF GUYS DEMOCRATIZING AI ON THE EDGE
How diverse experiences, insights and world views led to the creation of the Luna.

CAN WE MAKE IT SMALLER?
While looking at an AI server, Javier asked me (Thomas) on a trip to Miami, puzzled by the current status of local AI.
IS IT POSSIBLE?
After 5 years in edge computing & AI applications, I'm (Thomas) exploring the current state of edge AI performance & cost.

AI TEDDY BEARS...
We had a chance to talk to Nuha, a startup building AI teddy bears. Integrating AI into toys is a struggle: cloud-based AI is unsustainable & privacy is a concern. Meanwhile, current edge-AI options are pricey and underpowered.

FUTURE ROADMAP
Pete Warden previously led TensorFlow at Google, is now building UsefulSensors. We had a conversation on the future of hyper-efficient AI on the edge. This gave us insights into the future development of Luna.

HELP KIDS & PRISONERS IN LATIN AMERICA LEARN
Much of Latin America lacks internet access and quality education. Our Project Sinlapiz explored solutions and found a clear answer: on-device AI that acts as a teacher. We're now beta testing this promising approach in schools across Colombia.

SPEAK NEXT TO FORMER VICE-PRESIDENT OF EQUADOR
We had an opportunity to speak at the Educador Conference in Quito, Ecuador. We discussed the future of education and the role of AI in transforming learning with IBM, Microsoft, and the former vice-president of Ecuador, Rosalía Arteaga.
DEMO #1: PRETTY FAST
With all the learning so far, we created a demo device that can chat and talk to you. Performance is way above current edge-AI options.
DOING THE HARD THINGS FOR A GOOD CAUSE
With validations from builders, companies, and governments, we set out to properly build Luna, an affordable, fast, and privacy-preserving AI device. It's an ambitious project, but we're confident it's the right path.
